What Is Periodontics?
Periodontics is the branch of dentistry focused on the gums and supporting structures of the teeth. It covers the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of gum disease, from deep cleaning to advanced periodontal therapy.

Scaling (The Deep Clean)
Removes plaque and tartar from above and below the gumline where regular brushing can't reach.
Root Planing (The Smoothing)
Smooths tooth root surfaces so gums can reattach firmly and heal, halting further gum recession.
Gum Therapy (The Treatment)
Targeted care for gum disease, from deep cleaning to minor surgical procedures when needed.
Maintenance (The Upkeep)
Ongoing periodontal check-ups and cleanings to keep gum disease from returning.
Who Might Need Gum Treatment?
